Purpose:

Since the launch of Time Tracker we've had numerous requests for building applications. Here at SDK Innovation we love writing iPhone software and we'd like to do it full time. Unfortunately we do not currently have the means to devote an R&D team to it full time.

Here is our proposal to you:

We'll write the applications that you want just let us know what they are. We'll set up a comunity conribution "fund" for each application that you want to see on the iPhone which means you get to choose how much you pay for it. Once we have enough funds to build a particular application we will start development.

With this model everybody wins, you get to see the applications with the features YOU want on the iPhone and as time goes on we'll be able to produce software more readily with less need for community contributions. SDK is committed to serving it's Customers and we plan on doing just that.

Design of the applications will be done via our forums which ensures that every feature you want makes it into the final product.

We understand that we're asking you to give us your IP, chances are that if you're look at this section of the site you have no interest or intentions of using that IP anyway. We're not in the business of ripping people off, we just want to build the software that you are after but no one else wants to build. We're trying to mutually ensure that everybody wins. If you do not want to give us your IP do not under any circumstances put your idea up on this web site. We've identified a need for this sort of concept in the industry and thought we'd give it a shot. We are not a huge funded corporation we're only a few developers trying to earn a living and want to enjoy doing it too. We've heard the comment "if only I can get an audience with a software developer willing to listen and help" many times, here we are! We're willing to listen and eager to help.

How does the end user benefit from this? You might have a need for a utility that does not currently exist on the iPhone, this might not be an application wanted or required by many people which might put other developers off writing it. This is where we come in... We'll build it provided we can raise enough funds from the community - this will be done with a PayPal contribution. We will only accept contributions if there is enough interest in the particular product to justify the build.

Rules:

1. If you don't like these rules tell us so we can alter them.
2. All IP retained by SDK. If you're going to do something with the IP we encourage you to keep your idea and develop it yourself, if you just want the App tell us what you want.
3. Add your app idea to the New Applications Idea Forum
4. Get enough support in the forum for the App from other people in the community.
5. App gets added to Community fund pool
6. Designing of app and features will happen in the forum, SDK will have Vito rights and final design rights to ensure architecture stays solid.
7. When enough money has been raised to fund app development development will start.
8. Once stable minimal fee will be charged and used towards maintaining and enhancing that application.
